Pathways to Performance
9-20 NOVEMBER
Meet ERM
The focus of this years’ COP will not be on setting new climate commitments, but on delivering results. With electrification, climate resilience & adaptation, industrial decarbonization, climate finance, just transition and circular economy solutions high on the agenda, COP31 will spotlight the actions needed to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and competitive future. At COP31, ERM will bring together companies, investors, partners and experts to explore the pathways that align sustainability solutions with business performance. Through our events, insights and discussions, we will examine how organizations can accelerate delivery, unlock value and build the resilience needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
ERM will be hosting, speaking and attending several events throughout the week. ERM’s Interim CEO, Sabine Hoefnagel, will host two roundtable discussions where there will be opportunities for an open discussion with your peers to share success factors and how organizations are evolving their approach in a complex operating environment.

The energy transition has a trust problem
The energy transition requires unprecedented infrastructure development. At the same time, demand for technology infrastructure is accelerating. Together, these overlapping transitions are reshaping communities, economies, and energy systems. Yet support for this development should not be assumed. Communities, workers, policymakers, and regulators are increasingly demanding a clearer line of sight to benefits as part of a just transition. They’re asking who benefits, who bears the costs, and whether these changes are creating value for people and communities, as well as for business.
This roundtable will provide a platform for stakeholders involved in the energy transition to share the success factors for delivering infrastructure to meet growing demand and the interests of communities and wider society.

Beyond adaptation: The path to holistic resilience
As climate impacts intensify and volatility becomes a permanent feature of the operating environment, resilience is evolving from a risk-management issue into a core business imperative. This invitation only event will explore how to turn adaptation from starting point to achieving holistic resilience. Looking beyond climate risk in isolation to understand how climate, nature, supply chains, social factors, geopolitics and financial/insurability pressures interact, and how businesses can translate that combined picture into practical decisions around operations, investment and long-term value.
Drawing on ERM's latest research and experiences, the discussion will examine how organizations can move beyond assessing physical climate risks to embedding resilience across the interconnected systems that determine performance, value, and growth.
